AMOLED stands for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode. AMOLED is a OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display technology. OLED is a solid device that consists of thin films. The films contain organic molecules that can produce light when electrified. OLED is used as a screen in a device with higher sharpness levels and relatively low power consumption. AMOLED was released by Samsung, one technology company based in South Korea (Seoul). As one of the largest technology companies in the world, Samsung was the pioneer of AMOLED-based technology in touch screen.
AMOLED is a form of development than the previous display technology, known as Thin Film Transistor (TFT). This technology is the result of a combination of active matrix OLED technology and conventional TFT LCDs. AMOLED is a form of development from ordinary passive OLED display, which can change every pixel with efficiently and directly.
