Now you can use animated picture as your BBM avatar profile. You can choose 1 out of 9 available emoticon or using your own animated picture (.gif). These avatars use controlled animation, which means that motion is activated when you scroll over the avatar.

More emoticon means more ways for you to express yourself and personalize messages to your friends. And RIM promise to add even more emoticon in the future.

Increased character count for personal messages
Now you can say more in your daily update personal message, because BBm new version increase the size of your personal message space to 160 characters. That's mean twice than previous version, even longer than Twitter.

Colored Chat Bubbles
You can now personalize the color of chat bubbles for contacts. With 10 colors to choose from, user can pre-assign colors to your contacts by simply heading into your BBM contacts profile and picking a desired contact chat color. This feature can be great for organizing the many BBM contacts you have and makes it easier to identify types of conversations.

Camera/Display Picture Integration
Now you’ll be able to take a picture and show it right away! Now there are less steps between taking picture with your BlackBerry phone and making it your BBM Display Picture. Now you can easily update your BBM avatar right from the BlackBerry phone camera app by selecting “Set as BBM Display Picture” from the menu options.
