Review: iPad Mini

Gadget Review - iPad Mini could be said to be a "minimized iPad", using a 7.9 inches screen with a 4:3 ratio is fairly small for a tablet. Though iPad mini in fact slightly larger than the common 7-inch Android tablet. But, it's still an ideal size for a tablet.

Design
What's unique about iPad Mini? Without a doubt, it's the design. It's really cute, it's discreet, and it's very, very light. It feels like a whole new device for Apple. It's light enough to hold in one hand.

iPad mini's dimension made in such a way that make the user feel comfortable while holding or typing. Even when using in potrait position, your both thumbs can access all areas of the screen. To make it even better, a iPad mini virtual keyboard interface can also be split apart.

iPad Mini using 7.9 inches LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen .Although using a 7.9-inch screen, you can still be able to do a lot of iPad-style multitouch gestures, such as opening multitasking screen with 4 fingers or switch from one application to another simply by sliding it to the right and left.

For materials, the iPad mini itself still retains luxurious impression, like in sci-fi movie using some futuristic device. Whether to reduce weight or reduce production costs, we felt like a plastic with glossy coating, making it easy to leave fingerprints both in front and behind the iPad.

Display and Interface
iPad mini already using iOS 6. You just need to upgrade to 6.0.1 via OTA. For the interface itself is almost similar to the previous iOS. If previous iPad screen is made with size 9.7 inches which is close to 10 inches. In iPad mini, the screen reduced to 7.9 inches. With the ratio remains the same, then all the iPad apps have can be used directly in iPad mini. Unfortunately, the retina display feature is not presented in iPad mini. IPad mini resolution just 768 x 1024 pixels (162 ppi). But even so it is not less than the 7-inch Android tablet.
