Latest version of the malicious program LeNa (Legacy Native) will threatened Android device users again. For the record, LeNa has affected many Android devices in the past. The previous version of LeNa required the target smartphone to be rebooted. But now, with the updated LeNa app, the users of the infected phones are not even aware of the situation, as the malware doesn't display any symptoms.

According to the publication of the Lookout Mobile Security as reported by Threatpost, Android malware that has been known before it was updated with more advanced ability to endangering the Android device without depending on user interaction. 

"By employing an exploit, this new variant of LeNa doesn't depend on user interaction to gain root access to a device," warns Lookout's engineer - Tim Wyatt.

New version of LeNa applications take advantage of an exploit that called as GingerBreak to gain root permissions on Android phones. Lena, according to an engineer at the Lookout, Tim Wyat, LeNa hiding exploits in JPEG file functional.
"Hides its malicious payload in the string of code at the end of an otherwise genuine JPEG file." 
This malware able to communicate with a command and control server to install and launch the package to the users phone.

The malware connects to remote servers in order to send sensitive phone information and to install malicious software on the infected phone. The latest LeNa seems like a fully functional copy of popular apps and currently distributed as fake Angry Birds Space. However, for the moment this malicious program is believed not yet have made its way into Google's Play.
