Sony Xperia Ion carrying the 10.6 mm thick body, that arguably a bit thicker than it's competitors that carry the body thickness less than 10mm. Supported for 4G LTE connection, Ion ready to lure consumers with a pinned 12 megapixel camera.

Design
Comes with a unibody design, the Xperia Ion battery hidden in the stainless casing that showed the luxury and elegance impression. To change the micro SIM and insert micro SD card you have to move up, cover located on the back of the phone precisely on the very top.

Xperia Ion front display is decorated with four touch sensitive buttons which consists of the menu, home, back and search. On the right side of the phone is the power button, volume and physical camera shutter. While the left side, embedded micro HDMI port and a micro USB.

Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon Dual Core1.5 GHz; GPU: Adreno 220; RAM 1GB, 16GB Storage, Up to 32 GB MicroSD Card
Aimed for Hi-End users, Xperia Ion armed with 1,5 GHz Dual-core processor. Powered with 1GB of RAM that also supported by the Adreno 220 GPU.

As for storage space, Sony set up an internal memory of 16GB which can be used by users in the range of 10GB. Of course you can still insert a microSD card slot up to 32GB capacity memory.

OS and Interface
Xperia Ion using Android v2.3.7 (Gingerbread) Operating System. Carrying a 4.6 inch touch screen, Xperia Ion presenting a HD720P resolution pixel density in the range of 219 ppi. Display performance under the direct sunlight can still be seen, though still slightly reflective. Too bad, the Xperia Ion screen only has a scratch resistant layer instead of Gorilla Glass scratch resistant screen as other hi-end phones.

On the interface, you can select 7 themes that consisting of silk, turquoise, emerald, sapphire, gold, ruby and amethyst which not only visible on the homescreen but also applied to all Timescape interface adopted by Ion.

Camera
In the sector of photography, Sony set up a 12 megapixel resolution camera that also equipped with Exmor R sensor that promises crystal clear results in low light conditions. To take a picture, you can select the physical or virtual shutter button. By using the quick launch mode, you can directly take pictures in lockscreen position simply by pressing the physical shutter button.

Xperia Ion rear camera shows a high sensitivity to light when used for taking pictures indoors even if it means sacrificing the ability to determine the focus point. Overall, Ion able to produce images with the right color and saturation. As for the moving image recording, Xperia Ion able to produce images with a resolution of Full HD1080P which appears smooth and free of fractures. In addition, rear camera are capable to share those HD videos DLNA, HDMI and BRAVIA sync to quickly and easily stream content to other screens.

Multimedia
You can listen to the song using the music player to group songs by album, artist, SensMe Channel and Favorites. SensMe categorize songs according to the mood the song you're listening to such as daytimes, energetic, relax, and so on. The Xperia Ion music player is also equipped with equalizer, xLOUD engine as well as headphone surround. Headphone surround can adjust the volume issued in accordance surrounding environment such as a studio, club, to the concert hall.

Meanwhile, for the video player, Xperia Ion capable of playing Full HD1080P resolution videos in a variety of popular formats. Unfortunately there is no setting to see subtitled so you should install MX Player video player application if you want to watch the video with subtitles.

With default browser, you can open 8 pages at once. Browsers also supports flash content. To access the data, other than through the Wi-Fi you can use the data provider. Xperia Ion has also set up support LTE connections that operate at a frequency of 700MHz. While for the purposes of data transfer, you can use Bluetooth, data cable, and NFC.
