Health Issues
Is it true that mobile phones can cause health problems? Some research suggests that there has been no direct impact from the use of mobile phones. But there are exciting research conducted by Roger Coghill, an expert bio-electromagnetic, England. He conducted a survey of 500 respondents, 12% from them using a mobile phone for 20 minutes per day and 1.8% use mobile phones more than 2 hours a day.
Among the many respondents, 40% of them began to complain of headaches after using mobile phones for long periods. After 14 months to 2 years, some respondents experienced degradation (decrease) the amount of white blood cells.
From different sides, Tom Wills, Director of British Technology Information and Communications Electronics Trade Federation denied by stating that there was no connection between mobile phone with negative effects on human health. Tom stated that the mobile phone industry has passed through a long research phase and already have standard of health.
There are two things that deserve special attention related to human health. The first reliable heat generated by cell phone radiation. The second is the radiation cell phone itself. As we all know, the phone emits radio waves at a certain level will cause thermal effects which affect the temperature of the phone body. While low levels of radio wave radiation is believed by some experts can lead to headaches and trigger brain tumors.
Environmental Pollution
We used cell phones that turned out contain many hazardous and toxic materials to the environment. Chemical substances in the cell phone turned out to contain arsenic, beryllium, copper and some other chemical elements that can damage the ecosystem. These elements when exposed will contaminating soil and makes groundwater becomes unsafe for consumption.
But behind these dangers, in fact many parts of the phones that can be recycled, thereby reducing the potential for environmental contamination. Clear example is the recycling of the casing (body of phone), that made from plastic or metal mixture.
Currently, several vendors are beginning to use eco-friendly materials in the cell phone. Like Apple with iPhone, Sony Ericsson with Greenheart series, Nokia, Samsung and Motorola are starting to reduce carbon.
